Teen Therapy
Adolescence is a time of growth, discovery, and change—but it can also bring unique challenges. As a psychotherapist, I provide a supportive and inclusive space for adolescents from diverse cultural and neurodiverse backgrounds to explore their emotions, build resilience, and develop tools for navigating life’s ups and downs.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, which emphasizes the importance of secure relationships in fostering emotional health. I also draw on Theraplay techniques, which encourage connection, trust, and playfulness to support healing and growth. While Theraplay is often associated with younger children, its principles can be adapted to help adolescents strengthen relationships and address emotional challenges in a way that feels relevant and engaging.
My approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each adolescent. Sessions may include talk therapy, creative activities, or other methods that align with their interests and comfort level.
I also believe in the importance of family involvement when appropriate, working with caregivers to provide tools and strategies that support the adolescent’s growth and strengthen family dynamics.
If you’d like to learn more about how therapy can help your adolescent navigate this pivotal stage of life, I encourage you to contact me for a consultation.
